This book is a terribly frustrating read. It is hard to read for comprehension because every other sentence is a quote and every chapter is a history lesson on the evolution of that that concept with poorly synthesized conclusions. It is full of lists that are divorced from the central idea the authors wish to convey.Within each chapter, sub concepts are so poorly integrated, you get whiplash turning back the pages to connect or separate the ideas.The chapter on critical thinking never gives an actual definition of critical thinking. Instead the writers settle for two pages that chart this history of critical thinking in nursing and the prevailing interpretations in each decade. The authors don't leave the reader with a concrete understanding of any concept just a vague idea that it is important.The authors have no voice.I hope I never again have to use their material in my Nursing education.
